Seven Rivers, Fishwick
Brief Background
- 104 flats spread over 7 low-rise blocks
- Properties built in the early 1970s
- Privately owned
- Predominantly private rented (over 70%)
- All residents on low incomes/benefits and almost all living in fuel poverty
- Far less socially cohesive than Sandown Court
Project Accomplishments
- Original fabric of buildings was stripped and an external cladding system was fitted
- Windows replaced by A-rated triple-glazed fittings
- A central biomass heating system was installed for the seven low-rise blocks
- Overall, the energy leakage of this property compound was drastically reduced; surpassing our assumed targets
- Alongside the energy reduction measures, certain security integrations were implemented by the CESP scheme due to anti-social behaviour issues
